Furry friends

Sorry these are blurry, but I just wanted to post some pet pictures!
Mom bought Maddie a flat chipmunk and she loves it.  As of now, it's tail has been torn off and it's missing a squeaker, but it's still one of her favorites.
Both pets had their check up's and shots and the vet here confirmed what I had thought for a while, that Shadow is probably a Russian Blue.  She fits all the descriptions of one.
 Maddie loves her boys!
 Sheer doggie bliss!
 And a sleepy kitty
Shadow has her yoga poses down!
 Love the curly paws
Justin got a new fur hat, so Maddie tried on her chipmunk and figured that they had matching hats!

Halloween and 1st of November

Mike's parents were here at the end of October and for Halloween this year.  I decided to try a recipe I found on Pinterest.  This was prior to cooking them.  The recipe had too much spice, but it would be easy to do with just an ordinary meatloaf recipe as well.
 Monster Mouths
Justin didn't trick-or-treat, but just decided to dress up anyway.
 Sorting the candy stash
The next morning, Mike and I had to run an errand.  Parts of town were blanketed in white snow!!

Hadn't seen snow in so many years, we almost forgot what it was.:)

Last day in Gatlinburg

We decided to drive through GSMNP for our trip home.
Bear proof garbage cans are all over.  This is black bear country and they have been seen in the town of Gatlinburg as well.

We were hoping to see some fall colors, but there wasn't as much of it on the Tennessee side as there was on the North Carolina side of the park.
We stopped at the Smoky Mountain Grist Mill on the way home.  It's the only working gristmill inside the park.  I picked up some cornmeal and whole wheat flour.

It was neat to see it in operation.

Then we stopped and picked up Maddie from the kennel before we went home.  She was so happy to see us.

Day 4-Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge

We took the boys rock climbing in the morning at a neat outdoor store in Gatlinburg.

Then we headed over to the Hollywood Stars Car Museum.  This is just a small representation of the cars that were there.  Very impressive museum.
Original Batmobile.  They also have the newer one as well.
Eleanor, the Shelby Mustang from "Gone in 60 Seconds".
General Lee from Dukes of Hazard
 Flintstone's Movie car
 Herbie the Love bug
The Delorian from "Back to the Future"
 Original Ghostbuster's car
 Brian Wilson's (Beach Boys) car
and it wouldn't be Tennessee without Dolly Parton's Car
 Or Elvis's car
 Michael Jackson's Mercedes
 Beverly Hillbillies Jalopy
 Jurassic Park car
Next, we checked out the Guiness Book of World Record's Museum.
Justin layed on a bed of nails
 Longest neck record.  Ouch!
Then we headed over to the Alpine Coaster.  What a blast!  It's like a roller coaster you control by yourself.  I wish I could get our video that Mike took to load, but Blogger doesn't like the size of the file.  Here's a clip.

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge Day 3

I drank my coffee out on the deck the next morning and enjoyed the view.

Simply stunning in every direction you look
The boys took a monster truck ride this day
 I think they enjoyed it!
We shopped around in Downtown Gatlinburg

And watched these guys play some bluegrass in Pigeon Forge
Then we headed to Dolly's Dixie Stampede.  The pre-show was again another bluegrass band.
Several of these guys had played for famous musicians.  This one played the banjo behind his back.  He was Dolly Parton's banjo player.
We weren't allowed to take pictures of the show, so this was the best we could do.
